From October 2009 this qualification can be earned by either a one day Emergency First aid at Work Course or a three day First aid at Work Course. It is up to the employer to decide whether your staffing and workplace risks make it more suitable to have staff trained over one or three days.

This course is accredited by the Health and Safety Executive and can form part of the workplace safety preparations as suggested in the Health and Safety (First Aid at Work) Regulations 1981. The course is highly practical and includes topics relevant to the candidates own working environment. Assessment is via a HSE accredited assessor yet while the course is challenging it as achievable.
The course is validated with a three year certificate which can be renewed within that time with a two day refresher course. This course can be run as a four day syllabus or as 24 hours of training spread over a longer period. CRT medical can run this course around the clock and at weekends to cater for shift workers. CRT medical also hold two day refresher courses for the FAW qualification. The course must be undertaken while the current certificate is valid and is assessed in the same way.

Training takes place at either a CRT venue or your workplace.
