day (eight hours) in duration. This course is ideal for beginners and
covers the essential skills necessary for the First Aider to provide
Basic Life Support until professional medical help arrives. Subjects
include basic incident management, CPR,
bleeding, shock and getting help.
Three year certificate.
This
two day course covers the basics in more detail and includes additional
training in common illness, environmental injuries and fractures. It is
designed to allow students to provide First Aid in a broader range of
environments until professional medical support arrives. Ideal for
those who appreciate a little more knowledge or who have an active
lifestyle.
Three year certificate.
This 6 hour course is designed specifically for parents who want to know how to provide Basic Life Support for their children. This course does cover adult CPR but emphasis for general injuries is based upon the likely First Aid emergencies in a family household. Real life situations are reviewed and the signs and symptoms of Meningitis are also covered.
