Information |
Few
things in life are more unpleasant for a parent than seeing their child
in distress and feeling powerless to help. For parents and people who
spend time with children or the elderly this programme will ensure you
are prepared for the next time someone in the house trips on the stairs
or rides a tricycle into a wasp nest.
This course will provide confidence in
dealing both with traditional first aid emergencies and the more general day to day worries of injury and illness
for adults and children. Not all emergencies in the home are life
threatening and our syllabus therefore includes useful extras such as
how to remove a bee sting or correctly clean and dress the kind of minor
injuries that a ten year old skateboarder receives when bouncing across
a car park.
The course is practical in nature and needs no previous experience as it
will teach you everything that you need to correctly handle medical
issues - in particular for older and younger casualties. You will be
able to train with traditional first aid, child and baby manikins to
ensure your skill range reflects your interest.
Participants will also be encouraged to discuss issues they feel
unprepared for and the syllabus can be seen below.
This course is available in a one or two day programme.
The two day (12 hour) course satisfies the Early Years Foundation
requirements and can qualify participants for a Level 2 QCF. |
